2025 Volkswagen Taos What’s New for the VW Taos Engine?
The 2025 VW Taos engine has received an update to enhance its performance capabilities. Previously, the 1.5L TSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine produced up to 158 horsepower. As of this model year, it now reaches up to 177 horsepower, thanks to hardware modifications like updated piston rings, fuel injectors, turbo housing, a larger intercooler, and a fresh gasoline particulate filter. Another improvement lies in the transmission — the Taos is now standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission; previously, a seven-speed DSG® automatic transmission was offered.
